Life in Northwestern Ontario

The Northwestern Ontario lifestyle is built upon nature and the great outdoors - even in the colder winter months. Here, residents enjoy an abundance of fresh, clean water and benefit from a green living environment that naturally promotes a healthier and more relaxing way of life.

Even in the busier City of Thunder Bay, the pace of life is a lot slower than you'll find in other comparatively sized cities. Most residents have a short commute to work and can be anywhere within the city limits in less than 20 minutes driving time – even at rush hour.

One of the most attractive lifestyle features of Northwestern Ontario is that you can make your home in a rural setting without sacrificing the pleasures of city life.  Residents benefit from the best of all worlds with everything from wilderness adventures to fantastic shopping, or even fine dining, on the doorstep.

Above all else, the people here are well-known for being friendlier and putting family values first. If you want to live or work in this region you can expect to find yourself among welcoming people who are proud about where they live and what they do. Many newcomers believe that it is the friendly neighbours and colleagues that make Northwestern Ontario such a great place to be.

By world standards, you will have to search far and wide to find a better lifestyle than that enjoyed in Northwestern Ontario.
