The Municipality of Red Lake wishes to advise the Public that property commonly known as "11 Fifth Street" will be sold to the Public by sealed tender. The property is zoned for Townsite Commercial with site specific for parking exemption (C1-P) use. Bidder shall include information regarding the usage, building style and size and development of property.
Sealed Tenders will be received at the Municipal Office located at 2 Fifth Street, Balmertown, or by mail at Municipality of Red Lake, P.O. Box 1000, Balmertown, Ontario, P0V 1C0. Sealed Tenders clearly marked "Tender to Purchase - 11 Fifth Street" must be received by 3:00 p.m., local time, Wednesday, April 2, 2014; after which time shall be publicly opened at the Municipal Office, Balmertown, Ontario.
The Corporation of The Municipality of Red Lake invites residents who require special assistance to participate in providing valuable information to the Municipality in the event of a Community Emergency. In particular, those that are most vulnerable in an emergency situation: the elderly, disabled, those with special medical requirements, those who live alone, have no local support network or means of transportation, etc. should complete an Emergency Registration Form.
The Clerk’s Office maintains a listing of the Emergency Registration Forms. If you completed an Emergency Registration Form in 2013, you are not required to complete another one, unless your information requires an update.

Effective Monday, November 4, 2013 there will no longer be a School Crossing Guard at the crosswalk on Hwy 618 in front of Red Lake Madsen Public School.
The School Crossing Guard at Hammel Road will continue to be present during the morning, at lunch, and after school.
Motorists are reminded to be alert, use caution, obey the rules of the road, and watch for Children when driving in the Municipality of Red Lake.

At its meeting of Monday, August 26th, 2013, the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake adopted Official Plan Amendment No. 5 through By-Law No. 1803-13. The purpose and effect of the amendment is to change the land use designation and zoning from Natural Resources ('NR') to Institutional ('I'). If approved, the amendments would allow for a lot addition for the development of a new Medical Centre.

The Public Open House held on Tuesday, July 16th, to present the Municipality of Red Lake Draft Official Plan and Draft Zoning By-Law was a success. Here’s the slideshow that was presented that evening. The draft documents are available on the Notice of Open House page.
Municipality of Red Lake Landfill Expansion for Balmertown Waste Disposal Site and Gullrock Lake Waste Disposal Site.
The Municipality of Red Lake is initiating the Environmental Screening Process for the proposed expansion of the existing Balmertown Waste Disposal Site (WDS) and the purchase and expansion of the existing Gullrock Lake WDS. It is proposed that both of these sites will be expanded under one Streamlined Environmental Assessment process (Environmental Screening Report), due to the proposed coordination of waste disposal at these two sites.
