Northwestern Ontario is a region that is proud of its large and growing Aboriginal populations. The Ojibwe, Cree and Oji-Cree First Nations are native to the area and bring a strong sense of history and culture to daily life in our Northwestern Ontario communities.  Many other First Nations as well as Metis and Inuit peoples are also represented.

A wide range of supports and services are available to assist Aboriginal peoples who choose to move away from their own communities and into the cities and towns of Northwestern Ontario.
